One of the opportunities to increase the herd of high-yielding dairy cattle is the purchase of heifers with high genetic potential from western regions of our country. The study presents the results of an investigation into the feasibility of importing Holstein heifers of Voronezh selection for further breeding under the conditions of the Amur region. A comparative analysis of the productive and reproductive qualities of first-calf heifers relative to their counterparts of the same breed of Amur selection is given. It has been established that the purchasing Holstein heifers of Voronezh selection is justified, and the adaptation process proceeds successfully.
