The article presents the results of studies on the effect of preventive hoof trimming and active exercise on dairy productivity and reproductive performance of new-bodied cows. Experimental studies were conducted in the conditions of a farm of Dimskoe JSC in the Tambovsky municipal district of the Amur region. Three groups of newly bred cows (control and two experimental) with 9 heads each were identified. The experimental animals were treated using the technology of keeping, feeding, watering and milking adopted at the enterprise. In the first experimental group, preventive hoof trimming was performed twice, in the second group, hoof trimming was performed in combination with daily active exercise for 2 km. It was found that in the experimental groups, the actual lactation dose increased by 8.6–11.6% (P <0.05), the interbody period decreased by 19–31 days compared with the control. Therefore, the greatest effect is achieved by combining hoof trimming and active exercise. This allows us to recommend this technological technique to livestock enterprises to increase the productivity of cows and optimize the time of the interbody period.
