The features of pathomorphological changes in the tissues of the rat articular apparatus during the modeling of rheumatoid arthritis are presented in the article. The morphogenetic patterns of the development of inflammation and destruction of the structural elements of the joint during the experimental modeling of this disease have been clarified. The differentiated nature of the response of the synovial membrane epithelial cells to damage has been established. The destruction of the joint tissues with the development of pannus, sublethal and lethal damage to the cells and intercellular substance of the hyaline cartilage of the joint has been shown. The biological activity of a new synthetic antioxidant, TF-15 (1,4-dihydroxy-2-[(dodecylsulfanyl)methyl] benzene), has been studied in terms of protecting joint tissues during the reproduction of autoimmune inflammation in laboratory rats. Based on the absence of pronounced signs of synovitis and hyaline cartilage necrosis, the chondroprotective effect of this antioxidant compound has been established. The results obtained by the authors show the effectiveness and necessity of using antioxidant protection agents for the tissues of the structural elements of the joints of the pelvic limb of rats with rheumatoid arthritis.
